Install Postareco on iPhone and iPad
Postareco isn’t on the App Store yet. During testing you can install it for free on your iPhone or iPad with AltStore or Sideloadly, using your own Apple ID. The first time takes about 20 minutes.
Current beta: 1.1.13 (works on both iPhone and iPad, requires iOS 15 or later)
- A Mac or Windows computer and a data cable
- An iPhone or iPad (iOS 15 or later)
- An Apple ID. The tools use it to get a signing certificate from Apple — we recommend creating a separate Apple ID for this rather than using your main one
Option 1: AltStoreRecommended
Once set up, new Postareco versions show up right in AltStore on your device — one tap to update.
- Download and install AltServer on your computer: altstore.io. On Windows, first install iTunes and iCloud from Apple’s website (not the Microsoft Store versions).
- Connect your iPhone / iPad to the computer with the cable, unlock it and tap “Trust”.
- Turn on Developer Mode (iOS 16 and later): Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode, turn it on, restart when asked, then confirm “Turn On”.
- Install AltStore on your device: click the AltServer icon in the menu bar (Mac) or the system tray (Windows) → Install AltStore → choose your device, then enter your Apple ID and password.
- Trust the developer: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → tap your Apple ID → Trust.
- Open this page in Safari on your iPhone / iPad and tap “Add to AltStore” below; AltStore opens and adds the Postareco source.
- In AltStore’s Browse tab, find Postareco and tap Free / Install.
If the button doesn’t open AltStore, go to AltStore → Sources → “+” and paste this address: https://postareco.com/altstore.json
Refresh every 7 days
Apps signed with a free Apple ID stop opening after 7 days; just refresh — your data stays. With AltServer running on your computer and the device on the same Wi-Fi, AltStore refreshes in the background. You can also tap Refresh All in AltStore → My Apps. New versions appear there with an Update button.
Option 2: Sideloadly
Use this if you’d rather not install AltStore on your device. To update, download the new installer and install it again.
- Download and install Sideloadly on your computer: sideloadly.io.
- Download the Postareco installer (button below).
- Connect your iPhone / iPad with the cable, unlock it and tap “Trust”; on iOS 16 and later, turn on Developer Mode first (see Option 1, step 3).
- Drag the installer into Sideloadly, enter your Apple ID, click Start and enter your password when asked.
- Before opening the app the first time, trust your Apple ID in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
Refresh every 7 days
Turn on auto-refresh in Sideloadly and keep the computer on, on the same Wi-Fi as your device — or reinstall the same installer every 7 days. Your data is kept either way.
FAQ
The app closes right away, or says it can’t be verified
The 7 days are up. Tap Refresh All in AltStore, or reinstall with Sideloadly — your library and settings are still there.
Will refreshing or updating lose my data?
No. As long as you don’t delete the app, refreshes and updates keep your data.
Why do I need to enter my Apple ID password?
Apple issues the signing certificate to your account; the tools send the password only to Apple. To be safe, use a separate Apple ID for this.
It says I’ve reached the app limit
A free Apple ID can have at most 3 such apps on a device at once (AltStore counts as one). Remove sideloaded apps you don’t use and try again.
Is it the same installer for iPhone and iPad?
Yes, one installer works on both.
Will it be on the App Store?
Yes. Once it’s listed you can install it from the App Store, and this page will say so.
